Terms of Use
Effective as of September 23, 2026.
1. What Barzel is
Barzel is a devotional app for Christian men: one verse a day with a reflection, a personal journal for notes, habit tracking and consistency groups among friends. The service is offered free of charge by Fernando Tavares ("we"), available at www.barzelapp.com.br and in the apps published in the stores.
2. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Barzel, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Barzel.
- The information you provide when signing up must be true, and the account is personal and non-transferable.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens in your account.
- You can sign out, change your password and permanently delete your account at any time, in the Profile tab of the app.
4. Conduct and user content
On Barzel you can post content visible to other people, such as your name, profile photo and check-in photos in groups. By posting, you warrant that you hold the rights to that content and grant us a license to display it within the service, to the members of your group. It is forbidden to post content that is:
- illegal, defamatory, threatening or harassing toward any person;
- containing nudity, pornography or violence;
- hateful or discriminatory of any kind;
- in violation of the rights of third parties, or impersonating another person;
- spam or unsolicited commercial promotion.
We have zero tolerance for abusive content. Any member can report content through the app itself; we review reports and may remove content and suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice. For now, removing a member from a group is handled by our support: the group creator can request it by the contact email or in the app, in the Profile tab, under Settings, in the Report a problem option.
5. Groups and photos
Check-in photos and entries posted in a group are visible to the members of that group. Choose carefully who you share the invite code with. The personal journal is private: it is not seen by other users, by the groups or by the Barzel administration panel.
6. Barzel content
In the English version, the Bible text is from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), in the public domain. In the Portuguese version, the Bible texts are from the Bíblia Livre, by Diego Santos, Mario Sérgio and Marco Teles, under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Brazil license. The reflections, the brand, the design and the software of Barzel belong to us and may not be copied or reused commercially without permission.
7. Free of charge and availability
Barzel is free. We work to keep it available and secure, but the service is provided "as is", with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features, giving notice within the app when the change is relevant.
8. Limitation of liability
Barzel content has a devotional purpose and does not replace professional pastoral, medical or psychological counseling. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the service.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time in the Profile tab; deletion is permanent and removes your data, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms; the current version will always be on this page, with the date above. These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil.
11. Contact
Questions about these Terms: contato@barzelapp.com.br, or reach us directly in the app, in the Profile tab, under Settings, in the Report a problem option.
